DDR – your partner in new construction

While DDR is known for its expertise in the remediation and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure, the business is also skilled in creating structures from the ground up.

As well as delivering engineering, remediation and maintenance services, DDR Australia has significant design-and-construct capabilities. Often, ‘new construction’ projects serve the purpose of replacing structures that have reached their end of service life, however, increasingly, DDR is delivering buildings that have never previously existed – from the ground up.

Examples of such structures include Defence buildings, fuel infrastructure, water and wastewater treatment structures, and commercial buildings. DDR also provides civil construction services and is able to deliver mining infrastructure.

So why DDR for a new construction project? Firstly, the company’s design-and-construct service allows clients to leave the entire project to just one contractor, while DDR partners with the most suitable consultant for each project. Benefits of this start-to-finish service include streamlined processes and effective quality control, as well as the peace of mind that comes with having DDR by your side every step of the way.

Secondly, DDR places an emphasis on building strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors. As a result of these relationships, as well as the company’s ability to skilfully manage multiple trades on site, DDR has developed a reputation for running efficient construction projects and delivering positive, high-quality outcomes.

DDR also makes a point of selecting the right people for the job, people who are experienced, talented and dedicated. Deconflicting and ensuring the entire project team is on the same page is also part of DDR’s construction playbook.

Off site, DDR goes to great lengths to communicate with clients and stakeholders for the duration of the works, and ensures transparency throughout the construction process. In the early stages of a project, the business successfully manages design consultants, and liaises with BCA (Building Code of Australia) consultants to ensure compliance, quality and safety.

With building licences in every state and territory of Australia, DDR is able to deliver projects across the country in a vast number of sectors. While there are sectors into which DDR is yet to venture, the company has a strong track record of transferring its expertise to other industries. It is this agility, as well as a predisposition to thrive on challenges, that has made DDR the successful business it is today.

While DDR has plenty of remediation projects under its belt, the company is currently undertaking the design and construction of mask-testing facilities and associated infrastructure on 14 Defence bases across the country. The company is also delivering a $12.7 million project, also for Defence, in Tweed Heads, just south of the Gold Coast. The job involves the construction of a multi-user depot, incorporating offices, conference rooms, training facilities, storage and parking.

With the ability to deliver large and complex projects, as well as smaller facilities, in both cities and remote locations, DDR Australia makes an ideal construction partner.
