Aircraft Arrestor System Works

Defence acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians of country and is committed to increasing their role in the Australian Defence Force and the Australian Public Service.

RAAF Base Darwin is one of the Air Force’s main forward mounting bases. It is located 6.5km northeast of the City of Darwin and shares the runway with Darwin International Airport.

The project comprises:
■ Decommissioning of old aircraft arrestor pits inside gable markers
■ Design and construct of a new arrestor system and pits outside gable markers
■ Upgrade of electrical and other associated infrastructure as required for the new aircraft arrestor system
